In terms of solid haircuts that any man can wear, it might come out on top! I think it made him appear less lean and somewhat more stout. In CR through SF, Craig had a tapered back cut. I really think they missed an opportunity to reinvent his haircut again, as a result it feels stale. The SP haircut is clearly going for the CR look, but Craig's hairline had changed quite a bit between 20, so it doesn't look quite right. Like many creative in decisions Spectre, I think they just fell back on something that worked in the past, with little extra thought. The Spectre haircut is by far the worst for me. I couldn't imagine that film with a different cut. I get the criticism towards the QoS cut, I see it, but it still really works for me and looks great. Whilst the SF haircut may sacrifice some elegance, I believe it is Craig's Bond's most masculine look. But it really works on both style and storytelling levels. The shortness makes him look 10 years older, and at times throughout the film, like a totally different man than in QoS. The edge just goes to SF for having the balls to commit to such a radical change. I think both were successful at reinventing and refreshing the established look from CR. I think that haircut will look good in 100 years.ĭespite being so different, I find it very difficult to choose my second favourite between SF and QoS.
